Serbian Borisav Burmaz is slightly devalued to €1.8 million in the Romanian market value update. This is not particularly exciting six months after his transfer to FC Rapid, but it does cause a notable change in the top 10 most valuable players in the Romanian SuperLiga. €2 million, Burmaz’s previous valuation, is in the top 10 and the forward was the only foreign professional to hold one. After the update, there are only Romanians among the ten most valuable players in the SuperLiga. There are only local professionals among the ten most valuable in all other top leagues in European (Site notre bureau spécialisé).
The biggest winner in the market value update is top scorer Alexandru Mitriţă. The winger left his Romanian club CS Universitatea Craiova for MLS side New York City FC in 2019 for a whopping €8 million. This was followed by loan spells to Saudi Arabia and Greece and a significant drop in market value. The national player temporarily dropped to €2.5 million. Last year, we finally returned to Craiova on a free transfer and since then we have been on the upswing. In the new update, he increases by half a million euros to €4 million. Mitriţă also consolidates his second place in the league’s market value rankings behind FCSB’s Darius Olaru, whose value remains at €7 million. The newcomers in the top 10 with now 2 million euros are respectively the colleagues of Burmaz’ Rapid and Olarus FCSB Claudiu Petrila (+200,000) and Daniel Bîrligea (+400,000).
Mitriţă scored 16 goals and 14 assists for Craiova in the league and championship last season and thus collected significantly more points than in his last season before leaving his home for the third highest sale price in the history of the league at the time of 8 million euros. In the new season, the 20-time capped player already has seven goals and one assist after eight league games and two Europa League qualifiers.
Here’s how transfer market values work
Transfer market values are created by taking into account different pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which discusses the values in detailed discussions. Transfer market values cannot usually be equated to the actual transfer fees paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining market value, both individual transfer terms and situational conditions are relevant to some extent. Examples of this will be the case here listed. (Site notre blog d’information) does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
