le Rais Christophe Grimpret shakes up preconceived ideas in a book

Clichés in sports are not easy. And Christophe Grimpret compiled part of it in his work “(Site notre blog d’information) – kick in 50 preconceived ideas”. This Charentais-Maritime denies them by relying on scientific data, the history of sport and his 30 years of experience as a (Site notre bureau spécialisé) technical advisor in charge of former coaches. An environment that is not shared by preconceived ideas.

How did you become a (Site notre bureau spécialisé) technical advisor?

It’s a combination of circumstances. This is training as a physicist and sports teacher at the Bordeaux sports faculty. If you enter the Premier Sports Professorship competition, you will be part of this competition. If you have access to the caps on the first try, you will be part of a career as a physical education and sports teacher. I have therefore been working under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports since I was 23 to identify and direct young people towards hope centers or sports sections in Deux-Sèvres, but also for former coaches.

“Contrary to popular belief, when we have a final to play, it is better not to add more and to have a balanced speech than to accentuate the issues”

You decide to realize it after starting your career, what happened?

I have been writing articles for over fifteen years for a magazine for educators. These articles are written on an annual basis and, on a daily basis, on which I have developed editing experience. I sent my papers to Amphora Editions and they were willing to work with me. Overall, much of the book has now been written in over two years! The ideas came to me first and foremost from the coaches and educators I met during training. This also means that certain clichés appear in my book. It is also a concern for other sports such as rugby, which also affects it.

These preconceived ideas do not only concern the technical and physical aspect of athletes?

All right. In the book, many of the articles reflect psychology. There are passages about managing emotions or player pressure. For example, I deal with preparing for a talk, those famous pre-match speeches. Contrary to popular belief, when you have a final to play, it is better not to add more and to have a balanced speech which accentuates the issues. The examples that I cite in the book are the final of the European (Site notre blog d’information) Championship against Portugal in 2016. Didier Deschamps receives a few messages from women to motivate himself. It didn’t have the desired effect since they lost. And when we want to know “would you like to prepare for the 2018 World Cup final?” », he replies that he has done nothing. He did not change his habits in order not to create pressure in a context already under high pressure. And we all know the result!

General public, players, coaches… According to Christophe Grimpret, they all have well-established clichés.

“(Site notre blog d’information)ers have nothing in their heads.” “Intelligence is making connections between several elements. On the ground of the (Site notre bureau spécialisé), the fairness of the ground is between all the information that can be seen to adjust the components. So by definition, he is very intelligent. So afterward, we perhaps have (Site notre bureau spécialisé)ers who have educational defects, through their extra-sporting attitudes and behavior. But that’s something else. »
“We have lactic acid in the body.” There is no lactic acid in the human body when we play sports. On one of the lactates. The human body survives thanks to an injection of lactic acid. Lactate is a product derived from glucose. The human body’s energy source is not without oxygen. It is not a poison that only affects lactic acid in large quantities.
