Gladbach talent attacks in preparation: ‘I know what I can do’

Borussia Mönchengladbach have found a double reinforcement in the striker with Grant-Leon Ranos and Tomáš Čvančara. For former U23 striker Semir Telalovic, chances of playing time threaten to dwindle, but he’s not thinking about an early breakout.

In January 2022, Semir Telalovic moved from FC Illertissen to Borussia Mönchengladbach U23s, but according to the ‘Rheinische Post’, the 23-year-old striker no longer sees his future there. Telalovic had three professional assignments last season, with more to be added in the future – if not with the Colts then maybe elsewhere.

“The plan is that I participate in the preparations with the pros. Then we will sit down with the club in the next few weeks and see how things go with me, » Telalovic told the regional newspaper.

After Marcus Thuram’s farewell, Čvančara is expected to go on the hunt for goals, behind whom Grant-Leon Ranos, a talented youngster from FC Bayern, has been signed. The 19-year-old has already played three senior internationals for Armenia and scored a brace against Wales (4-2) in mid-June.

« I have confidence in myself and I know what I’m capable of, » Telalovic says of competing with Čvančara and Ranos. But this does not guarantee regular working hours.
