Cercle de Bruges has parted ways with coach Miron Muslic. The 42-year-old Austrian has been in charge of the Belgian first division club since September 2022, when his compatriot’s assistant Dominik Thalhammer was promoted to head coach. Under his leadership, Brugge finished the past season in fourth place and thus qualified for the Europa League, from where they were subsequently relegated to the Conference League.
Assistant coach Jimmy De Wulf will act as interim coach until a new head coach is found. Paris Brunner, born in Dortmund and former BVB talent, has been on loan to Cercle Bruges since the summer. The 18-year-old has signed in France with AS Monaco until 2028 and has been temporarily transferred to partner club Cercle. So far, things are not going well for the 2023 U17 World and European champion: Brunner has played 254 minutes in eight competitive matches, but has not contributed to any goals.
Le Cercle also displays a modest record for the current season, the club being in penultimate place after 16 days.
