Even if we neglect the fact that Ortega played his first Bundesliga season at the age of 27 (and therefore cannot be « better world » than « Baumann and Co. » in (Site notre bureau spécialisé) terms, because otherwise someone would have noticed this super talent before), an age in which Baumann has already spent 7 years in the first division as a regular goalkeeper, one cannot ignore the fact that in his current job he mainly sits on the bench and that’s just stupid for a national team goalkeeper who only plays there once every few weeks would do it.
This is a very strange argument.
He can’t be better at (Site notre bureau spécialisé) because he only played his first season in the league when he was 27? This is a really bad argument and I hope you see it for yourself.
There are enough counterexamples in this regard. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small service, Undav or even Klose. They all started late.
Even nominated Blaswich only reached the Dutch top flight at the age of 27, only to play a regular season in the Bundesliga four years later. He is now also a national goalkeeper. You could have named any other German goalkeeper.
I agree with you, the role of backup goalkeeper for Ortega is unfortunately a counter-argument for him.
Perhaps Baumann’s only « mistake » in his career was getting a little too comfortable at Hoffenheim. A few years ago he would have easily fit in at BVB or Leverkusen and would probably still be a regular goalkeeper there today.
I highly doubt it.
Hradecky and – and above all – Kobel are clearly better than Baumann.
He’s a good goalkeeper, but nothing more. Similar to what Swabia was with us.
We are no longer upper middle class. This is therefore not enough and has not convinced any major club to secure Baumann’s services.
There have never been any big rumors about Baumann.
How do you measure Ortega’s fantastic « (Site notre bureau spécialisé) quality », especially compared to all the other German goalkeepers, who are obviously far behind him in this regard? It’s amazing how he suddenly discovered this in Bielefeld without anyone else noticing for years.
Ortega still hasn’t been the worst with the ball. He had big problems controlling the penalty area and often had poor timing.
But Ortega constantly worked on himself and visibly improved. He proved it not only in Bielefeld but also in City.
You definitely won’t end up at City if you’re new to (Site notre bureau spécialisé). You complain about his “fanboy behavior,” but you shouldn’t act like Ortega is clearly inferior to others.
I’m a big fan of Ortega, but I admit that the argument that he is not a regular player is unfortunately valid enough to say that you are not a national goalkeeper. This makes me understand why he’s late.
But someone needs to seriously explain to me what Blaswich’s appointment is all about. Even Zetterer and Nicolas are a better choice
