ᑕ❶ᑐ Bochum mourns ex-player Iwan

Bundesliga side VfL Bochum are mourning the loss of former player Andrzej Iwan. As announced by the Polish (Site notre blog d’information) Association, the bronze medalist of the 1982 World Cup has died at the age of 63.

I played 29 games with the national team of Poland (11 goals) and it was thanks to that of Bochum and reached the final of the 1988 DFB Cup.

Iwan scored against Hamburger SV in the semi-final to make it 2-0, and VfL then lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in the final.

« Son but in the 1988 DFB Cup semi-final will not be forgotten, » VfL wrote on Twitter on Wednesday: « Our thoughts are with Andrzej’s family and friends! Rest in peace! »

In the Polish league, Ivan was champion four times, scoring 90 goals in 269 matches.
