Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona is already breaking one record after another from a very young age.
Thanks to his appearance in the CL round of 16 against Napoli, Yamal is the youngest player to ever appear in the knockout stages of the premier category. And no, this is not his first record, set at the age of 16 years and 223 days.
It all started on April 29, 2023, when the winger came on in the 83rd minute against Real Betis and became the youngest player to make his La Liga debut. At that time, the youngster replaced former record holder and colleague Ansu Fati at 15 years, 9 months and 16 days. He left the FC Barcelona Masia at the age of 16 years, 9 months and 25 days. At the age of 16 years and 38 days, Yamal became the youngest player to make his league debut.
He also holds the record for the youngest passer and scorer in the Spanish first division. The same goes for the Spanish national team. In the dress of La Furia Roja, he was not only the youngest debutant, but also a scorer. At 16, Yamal already holds 10 records – and there could be more to come.
