Many individuals will certainly agree that there has never been a better football side than the world cup winning side of 1970. That respective Brazilian side produced the most sublime, flowing football which left the opposition reeling and soccer fans all over the world in ecstacy. Throughout the timeline of Brazilian football, they have always been full of flair and invention. With dazzling performances of ball control and some brilliant free kicks, they captivate audiences the globe over. Brazil has most recently won the 2002 world cup.
Brazil are the only side in the history of football to have participated in every world cup, they have won the trophy a record five times, in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. Brazil has also won the South American championship on five occasions.
In the year of 1971 a national league was set up in Brazil, and they boast many clubs, including the likes of Sao Paulo.
Brazil is notorious for wearing their Yellow shirts, blue shorts and blue socks.
Brazil’s leading goal scorer of all time is Pele, notching up an incredible 77 goals between the years 1957-1971, he is also arguably the greatest player ever to pull on a Brazil shirt, he made his debut at the tender age of 16 in an encounter against Argentina.
Other legendary players include, Garrincha, who was also known as the ‘little bird.’ Garrincha was an integral part of the Brazil side which won the 1958 and 1962 world cup finals. His skilful footwork demolished many a defence. Another more recent Brazilian legend includes, Ronaldo, he has scored an incredible 15 world cup goals, a record number of goals scored in total for the world cup tournament.
